The purpose of the Rapid Response Section is to assist workers and employers by coordinating and delivering information and services. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services office offers the following services:
  1. identifying local resources and agencies to make appropriate training and placement assistance available to the workers;
  2. promoting labor-management adjustment committees to achieve common goals
  3. disseminating information on the services and activities through the WIA;
  4. coordinating the exchange of information regarding Ohio's unemployment insurance program and the employment services system;
  5. providing information about the area's labor market
The employer can benefit from this program as its employees have an alternative source of information approved by the company, as well as access to state and local funded programs and services which can be provided to address on-site tension and frustration. Additionally, a positive image can be shown to the community that both the employer and employees are attempting to constructively address the layoffs.

Key to Business Success is a Skilled Workforce

Let Medina County Workforce Development assist your business in the cost related to the training of your future employees with an "On the Job Training Program" for eligible participants.

As available fully qualified recruits become more difficult to find, numerous returning veterans and those still on unemployment have skill sets which closely match, but do not fully match your employment needs.  Let us help you in defining a training program for these job applicants, and aid in offsetting some of those costs attributed to that training.
