There are nearly 2,000 One-Stop Career Centers nationwide where employers can go to receive assistance in connecting to and recruiting veterans. One Stop Career Centers, including the Medina County Workforce Development Center, offer a wealth of resources. We have staff available here at the Medina County Workforce Development Center who work solely with veteran populations and can provide relevant veteran applicant referrals.

Why hire a veteran?

Returning service members bring unique skills and experience to the civilian workforce. Many companies report that because of their training and their work ethic, veterans make excellent employees and possess a higher rate of retention.

How can I connect with and recruit veterans?

More than 3,400 One Stop Career Centers nationally offer employers assistance connecting with and recruiting veterans. Many One Stops offer resources such as specialized local Veterans' Employment Representatives (LVERs) and Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) staff, who work solely with veteran populations and can provide relevant veteran applicant referrals. To get started accessing these services, contact the Medina County Workforce Development Center or locate your local One Stop Career Center.

Key to Business Success is a Skilled Workforce

Let Medina County Workforce Development assist your business in the cost related to the training of your future employees with an "On the Job Training Program" for eligible participants.

As available fully qualified recruits become more difficult to find, numerous returning veterans and those still on unemployment have skill sets which closely match, but do not fully match your employment needs.  Let us help you in defining a training program for these job applicants, and aid in offsetting some of those costs attributed to that training.

If interested, contact MEDINAWORKS at (330) 723-9675 and ask about our "On the Job Training (OJT) Programs.
