The Office of Workforce Development has announced the start of the new
Military Injury Relief Fund (MIRF) program. This fund was created by
House Bill 66, and can provide funds to eligible military veterans who
were injured while in active service (including diagnoses of
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), while serving under Operation Iraqi
Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. These injuries must have been
incurred in the line of duty while the service member was receiving
hazardous duty, combat, or hostile fire pay.

A completed application and supporting documents are required. Eligible
veterans and service members can apply for a MIRF grant through their
County Veterans Service Office.

Questions regarding MIRF can be addressed to MIRF@odjfs.state.oh.us ,
or by calling 1-888-296-7541, Option 5.
