Workforce Advocacy for Youth (WAY) proudly serves students and graduates at twelve Metropolitan Akron-area high schools in Summit and Medina Counties. We are a non-profit organization operating the Jobs for Ohio's Graduates (JOG) program. JOG is an affiliate of Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG).

Our mission is to assist youth in making a successful transition from the educational system to the world of work.

JOG Our Way is an affiliate of Jobs for America's Graduates, Inc. (JAG). JAG is a national, non-profit, public service corporation designed to assist in the transition of high school students through graduation and from school to work. To accomplish this, JOG employs the JAG Model of Services. This model includes four facets:

Next Step is an innovative, hands-on, free resource for any one between the ages of 14-21.  Next Step is dedicated to helping youth with career exploration, job seeking skills, academic advancement, financial aid and help in taking the “next step” toward your future.

We provide assistance with applications, resumes, cover letters, follow-up phone calls, interviews, career options after high school, and goal setting.  Along with one-on-one assistance, Next Step offers a job board that is updated every week, job searching through local, regional, and national internet websites, employer access through job fairs, job shadowing, and interview opportunities.

We also offer GED Prep classes as well as tutoring and academic support, counseling and mentoring, use of phones, laptops/high speed internet, copiers and fax machines, and referrals to youth programs and other community resources. However, the opportunities don’t stop there!

Actively participating with us will allow you to become a member of our program. As a participant in the Next Step program, you are able to partake in our Professional Association, our Leadership and Career conferences and trainings, work experiences, and volunteer opportunities. The possibilities are endless. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” and that step happens with Next Step!
