SkillsLink

SkillsLink is a job profiling and outreach process that helps workers losing their jobs find a new, similar job more quickly.  Job analysis experts will interview the workers to document their skills, abilities, and working conditions, and generate a detailed report using the Work Profiling System.

Labor market analysts from the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services will use the profile data to locate similar jobs within a 60 mile radius of the existing job.

The SkillsLink process creates a solid profile of the workers' skills used in their existing jobs in a concise report available to the job seekers and to the employers hiring.

By better documenting their skills, the report helps job seekers prepare for interviews and create more effective resumes.  The end result is faster re-employment into a similar job in the region.
